About

A little about me

Greetings, the name's Lux, and in this section of the website I'll talk briefly about my personal life and interests.

I'm a 18 year old bio-informatics student at the University of Applied Sciences Leiden, based in the Netherlands. I'm learning about implementing algorithms with software development and its applications in biology. I'm currently doing my bachelor's degree, and I'm planning to follow that up with a master's degree in either computer science, data science or bio-engineering, I'm still undecided. The coursework is fun and I'm enjoying myself with my studies. I'm appreciative of minimal design on the web and in software in general, and enjoy it when other people embrace it too. The old web really had a specific utilitarian / no AI or bullshit feel to it, and I miss that aesthetic in the modern web.

What I'm interested in, or my hobbies

Besides that, I like playing old video games like the older Final Fantasy games, or Castlevania. I also enjoy music, collecting vinyl records and CD's, together with the audio world and the sound engineering / aucoustics behind it. With my background in bio-informatics, I of course have a keen interest in the intersection of technology and biology, more specifically; protein structure prediction/modeling (with ChimeraX, AlphaFold, Swissprot), and protein-anotation and functional relations (with UniProt, Pfam, KEGG). Do mail me about anything you're interested in! (or think I might be interested in)
